Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser with the HTML canvas. Your image never leaves your device.
Will resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp: we scale down in steps for better detail. Making an image larger cannot add detail, so big enlargements will look soft.
What does "Keep aspect ratio" do?
It keeps the width and height in the same proportion as the original, so the image isn't stretched or squashed.
Do animated GIFs stay animated?
Not yet. This tool saves the first frame. A dedicated GIF resizer that keeps animation is coming soon.
Is there a size limit?
Outputs up to about 16 megapixels (for example 4000 × 4000) are supported, which is the safe limit on most phones.
