Frequently asked questions

Is my video or audio uploaded?

No. Speech recognition and every edit run in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?

They are nearly the same: VTT starts with "WEBVTT" and uses a dot in times (00:00:01.000) instead of a comma. VTT also supports styling, which web players use.

My SRT has odd formatting. Will it work?

Yes. Byte-order marks, Windows line endings, missing numbers and HTML tags are handled.

Can I edit the subtitles too?

Use the Subtitle Editor to change text and timing.
