Frequently asked questions
Can I remove a part from the middle of a video?
Yes. Under Selection choose "Cut it out": the part between Start and End is removed and the parts before and after are joined.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. VideoTouro trims the video inside your browser using your device's own processing power. The file never leaves your computer or phone.
What is the difference between Exact and Fast mode?
Videos are stored in groups of frames that start with a "keyframe". Fast mode copies those groups without re-encoding, so it is instant and lossless, but the cut can start slightly before your chosen time. Exact mode re-encodes the video when needed, so the cut lands precisely where you asked.
Will trimming reduce the quality?
Fast mode keeps the original quality exactly. Exact mode re-encodes at high quality, which is visually very close to the original.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no paywall or upload limit. The practical limit is your device's memory: most computers handle videos of several gigabytes; phones are best with shorter clips.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Exact mode needs video encoding support (WebCodecs); if your browser lacks it, Fast mode still works.
